Meet Sarah Harbin...

 Mrs. Sarah Harbin is a veteran Drama and Chorus teacher who aims to bring the magic of Chorus and Theatre to the next generation and is excited for her first year at Creekview High School!  Mrs. Harbin graduated from Mount Zion High School with honors in 2001.  While at MZHS, Mrs. Harbin was active in the band, chorus and Thespian Troupe, where she was a part of over 20 plays and musicals.  Mrs. Harbin went on to get her undergraduate degree from The University of Georgia where she majored in Music Education with a concentration in voice.  With almost 20 years of experience, Mrs. Harbin has taught both high school and middle school theatre, music, and chorus and coached one-act and literary teams.  Mrs. Harbin’s Literary Teams have consistently placed at Region Competition, coming in first three times and sending numerous competitors to state.  In addition, Mrs. Harbin’s choirs consistently earned marks of superior and excellent at Large Group Performance Evaluation and were invited to sing at the opening of the Georgia General Assembly in 2016.  Mrs. Harbin was awarded Teacher of the Year at Gilmer High School in 2016 and most recently spent six years as a part of the faculty at Pickens High School where she was one of the Star Teachers in 2021 and 2022.  She is a sought-after soloist, pianist, and one-act judge around the state of Georgia.  She would like to thank her husband, Patrick, and her daughter, Sally, who have weathered many late nights and rehearsals with patience and grace.

 

 

 

 

Meet Jeff Anderson...

 

 

Mr. Anderson has been our Thespian Sponsor since 2018!  He has a Bachelor of Science in English Education and a Master of Arts in English.  This is his 14th year at Creekview and 31st year teaching.  During that time, he has taught all grades and levels of high school English – including 20 years of AP English - as well as electives in both journalism and drama including Theatre Arts Fundamentals, Advanced Drama, and Musical Theatre.  As a former director with Creekview, he was involved with our productions of Shuddersome: Tales of Poe; Mmmbeth; The Music Man (a Shuler Award-nominated show); The Importance of Being Earnest; The Addams Family; The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged; The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; Do Not Go Gentle (a Region One-Act Competition winner), Xanadu, Jr. and Legally Blonde, Jr.  He has also acted as the House Manager for numerous shows since 2022.

 

Meet Scott Martin ...

 

Scott L. Martin is the choral director at Creekview High School in Canton, GA. Scott holds music degrees from The University of Georgia and Shorter College, where he was a voice student of John Ramsaur, a conducting student of John Ratledge, and a NATS winner. As a clinician, Scott regularly conducts various honor choirs around Georgia and is an adjudicator for the Georgia Music Educator's Association Choral Performance Evaluation. Choirs under his direction have been selected to perform for multiple Georgia Music Educator's Association conferences as well as state and regional American Choral Directors Association conferences. Professional memberships include the National Association for Music Education, Georgia Music Educator's Association, Phi Mu Sinfonia, and the American Choral Director's Association, where he is the past GA ACDA Repertoire and Resources Chair for High School Choirs. Scott is also the immediate past GMEA State Choral Chair. In addition to his duties at Creekview High School, Scott is artistic director and principal conductor of the Cherokee Chorale, a community choir based in Canton, GA. Scott is married to Laura Burgess Martin, who is choral director at Creekland Middle School and immdediate past president of GA ACDA. They live in Canton with their children Joseph, Emily, and Gracie.
